  • Services for VJER: This Saturday in Alvin

Services for Vic will be this Saturday at Froberg's Funeral Home in Alvin. I'll post directions and the time as soon as I can. Lynne has requested that everyone wear their fishwestend/2cool shirts rather than coat and tie. Vic wouldn't want any of us in a suit.

After the services, there will be a reception at Vic's sister's house in Alvin. A covered dish or dessert is requested if you are able to make it there. I know this request might be tough to fulfill if you're a batchelor without an oven like me. You don't have to come to the reception, but I know Lynne and Vic's family will appreciate it if everyone that shared time with Vic could make it to the memorial service.

If anyone is unable to make this, we will also be doing something special for Vic at Blockade Runners in the future. Hooked Up on 2cool will be making a memorial cross to install there and Vic's family has decided to have an informal service right there on the dock. Backlasher, who is a retired minister will preside. All who loved Vic will be invited to attend.

Keep those pictures coming on the other thread. - Sandy

Just wanted to clarify on the attire for the memorial. I've been asked about this and we're hoping for classy casual fishin' stuff. If you have a Columbia or Laguna shirt that's great. Tee shirts are a little too down to earth for a service. Sorry I didn't clarify that. I just wish I had gotten the FWE logo on one of my Lagunas. This probably does not need to be said, but remember no hats on inside. You know your momma taught you that.

        Thanks everyone. - Sandy

That's a good idea Rocky. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Y'all, the time for the memorial service has been set at 11am at Froberg's Funeral Home in Alvin. If anyone has that address, please post it up. I'm so tired, I've got to take a nap. - Sandy

Just a small change for tomorrow. Due to the possibility of rain, the reception has been moved to the VFW in Alvin. It's located at 812 S. Douglas St. Hope to see y'all there. - Sandy
