I've heard that there is good fishing in this area but i'm not really sure the best method of attack. I've tried to get in there an anchor/drift but neither was very effective. I also use live shrimp and LSU colored manic mullets. any advice or direction is totally welcome! Thanks!

During the summer, I drift that area outside of the bayou itself with a popping cork and shrimp. On incoming and outgoing tides, I try to post up at one of the cuts leading into the bayou as it flushes bait in and out. It should be turning on over there by now. Lotsa reds and trouts!Resident Ninja

And when I say outside the bayou, I mean immediately right out of the cut. There is a lot of shell and oyster beds there (A LOT). In the afternoon, watch the shoreline as the reds like to push bait up and chase em around. If you happen to go soon, post up a report. I need to know when to start back fishing over there :PResident Ninja

Fished there for a while on the tide change on Saturday no action. I did see one red on the other side of a shell bank but was not taking anything I was offering. The Galveston ship channel was full of floating 2x4's logs and other debris from the recent rains."Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after" ~ Henry David Thoreau
