  • new to the area...

I've been fishing Galveston for about 6 months or so with my boat - 20' Sea Hunt Triton - and have had both good and bad days. One piece of info that I've been searching for is that on a east-wind where do you look for good color water? I've tried Fat Rat pass, peppers cove, and some other reefs/washouts but haven't had much luck with that wind. Thanks!

Protected from e-w winds is where I'd go.

Echo what Robalo said. Just find a protected area from E wind. I have never heard of the places you fish either.

East winds are tough on us all. But the refuge on the east end of East Bay is a good starting point. Good bottom and lots of clam shell mixed in with mud. Also, you could try getting up in the bayou drains aswell. Or any other small pocket that gives enough protection. Big Pasture and Yates are two that come to mind.

                    Good luck.

In Easy Bay, I like Yates Bayou on an East Wind. In the West End, you can usually find clean water around Mud Island but it will be spotty. On a West wind, I like to stay at home and sleep in.
