Beachfront Piers

Can any of you guys in Galveston tell me what the water is looking like on the beachfront. I was thinking about fishing on one of the piers tonight around the tide change, but I do not want to go if the water does not look "trouty". Thanks!

The surf is dark blue all the way to the beach, Moe. Live 9 blocks from it. Can't tell how rough the breakers are but looks flat. Shrimp boat dragging on the third or fourth bar in close. Look out! .........by the way you might want to try the rock groins if the tide is moving in. Save a few bucks.

It's hard to get true colors on the surfcams, i've been checking it most of the day.

Can you see anything at night fishing off the rock groins?

I don't fish at night but to the best of my knowledge except for street lights on the seawall there is no lighting on the groins. Lighted piers may be a lot better. I'd hate to wrestle a shark or big ray with no way to see.

The surf looked awesome at the end of the jetties and all along the beach, lot of pods of bait.
