  • Ironic...Food Stamp Program

Isn't It Ironic? The food stamp program, part of the Department of
Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of
foodstamps ever. Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the
Department of Agriculture, asks us to "please do not feed the animals"
because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of
    themselves.

Sadly we can't shoot the "animals" under the Foodstamp Program (at least most of them since most abuse it).

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. My girlfriend is disabled and gets 82.00 a month. Sure helps out on her end. Mitt Romney gets 58,000 dollars a day for stealing in the past. Equal justice?

Gatta admit ... that was funny.

And the food stamp program is a problem ... but I draw the line at the children, who I have no problem trying to help. They can't go get a job or do anything about their situation. I sure hope this economy pulls up and improves so we can get these poor kids in a better situation. I don't see much hope, since many states are cutting children's programs left and right, and the churches can't do everything on their own. Lord bless the hungry children, the disabled like our brothers and sisters who came back from Iraq and Afghanistan often missing appendages, and the elderly who just can't make it on their own any longer.
            Amen.

I think most of us understand the usefullness of the foodstamp program for people in situations such as your girlfriend might be. It's the people who abuse the system we are talking about.

I've been in line at the grocery store and watched as people buy steaks with foodstamps...that's not the intended purpose.

We all know politicians are mostly crooked...especially the rich ones.

Hear Hear. Politicians are deluxe con-artist. What's wrong with someone eating a steak once in a while. The problem with stamps are people gaming the system and selling them for 50 cents on the dollar to get a six pack or some cigarettes. You don't think the privideged are doing most of the buying of them? From the hood to the penthouse I learned the ways of the world. Thanks, Jesus and my good old catholic church.

Agree with yall (nice post Swells)-I hate the abusers-see the link for a prime example-I'd like to find the gummint worker that allowed these mofos to collect welfare: http://blog.chron.com/newswatch/2012...ry-police-say/

We need those gummint employees that are spota check on these folks to actually do that instead of driving to their house and watching Oprah instead of doing their job. I see lots of Honda Prius with Houston Housing Authority driving around but they never seem to be going to any Sec. 8 housing and checking to make sure thier clients are not abusing the system.
