Family Fishing 2/25

[Texfish]

Picked up some trout candy (live shrimp) and took the wife and five-year-old daughter for a little boating and fishing Saturday 2/25. After a long morning of setting up my wife's SUV to tow the boat we finally launched in Galveston at around 11:45 just as the boat touched the water a light rain started with small hail, sleet of freezing rain but we stuck it out for a few hours.

We didn't catch any fish but still had a great time on the water.

Tough day out for sure. The evening would have been the ticket yesterday -- slicked off at about 1pm and warmed up nicely. I started to stay out and look for an afternoon bite but I left to make the weigh in at Lutes -- alas, my flounder was too long.. shoulda stayed Glad you got out!

Oh well, they can't be all good days fishing, but getting out with the family is what counts most.
