  • I need a water level/tide report please.

Hello All, I need to get a water level/tide report for the SLP area. I'd like to launch this evening at SLP, but y'all know how that ramp is. With 40mph winds today I'm worried about all the water being pushed out. If anyone's in the area, please post up and let me know. Thanks! - Sandy

The water level monitor at USCG Freeport is the closest one I know of. Right now tides are running 1' below predicted with the residual effect (the amount below predicted) growing pretty rapidly with the high winds. The blue line is predicted tide, the red observed by the monitor. The green is the difference between predicted and observed. Winds measured at 22 knots (25mph) from the NE - it's blowing out there.

Maybe somebody in the area will give us an eyeball on the situation.

Doesn't look too bad at all right now Sandy, well within the normal range. I looked at it a few minutes ago when I went to lunch -- I was actually surprised at how high it was this morning coming in. If you'll call me at about 430 or 5 I can give you an update. I'll take a look at it when I leave out of here.

Offats actually looks a lot better than I thought it would. It looks like it's only down 6"-8".
