Quick question for Evans Marine, based on information regarding pricing and support I have seen on this site, I sent a friend of mine to you. He had attempted to get some support from Fishing Tackle Unlimited about mounting a unit to his jack plate, I will just say he was not impressed.
He contacted you, when I followed up with him he said you are pusing the Power Pole. If I understand correctly the Talon only requires mounting and hooking up electric power. The Power Pole requires mouning a hydralic pump with the associated lines in addition to the electric. His challenge is he has no room to mount a pump.
In posts from last year I saw mention that you liked to Talon - why the change. In addition is my research correct regarding mounting.

Both products are great. The re design of the pro II power poles are a lot better than the past models. As well they have come down in price. They also include 3speed stealth pump, as well as wireless controlls standard with purchase now. I sell both power pole as well as Talon. I am pushing power pole more right now because the redesign in my opinion has the edge over Talon IMO right now. With space issues, the talon is def. the way to go. I'm not sure who the customer is that you sent to me is, but I have not heard any neg. feedback from any Talon or power pole customers we have installed.Bryan Evans

I do not want any additional holes in the transom
Can you mount the Talon to a bracket that attaches to your jack plate if you have an adjustable jack plate?
Do you suggest pulling the motor and using the bracket and shim that goes between the motor and and transom.
I was on your web-site and saw the step that mounts to your jack plate, same question - can you mount this to an adjustable jack plate and is the step suitable of continual use. We wade and either the sides of the boat are getting higher - the bottom is getting softer and harder to jump - or I am increasing in weight and age. Either way I need some help and was looking at aluminum solutions until I saw your step.

I like both Talon and Power Poles. JL Marine has re-designed the Power Pole and I think they have fixed a lot of the problems they had before with leaks and such. Both units perform well, it realy depends on your preference. Some people don't like the fact that the power pole exxstends out and gets in the way of fishing line when chasing a fish around the boat, and some other people don't like the fact the talon is stantionary and shoots straight down. The Talon is a little cheaper and labor is easier. Just realy what one likes better, both companies stand behind the warranty.Originally posted by Floater38 View PostWhat do you suggest for a ZX-22 Bay Skeeter...Power Pole or Talon...primarily West Bay 4-6'.Bryan Evans
