  • Power's Out, So Much for Smart Meters

The dang power went off on my street about 2:30. I just saw a truck driving down the street behind me and turning around.
Apparently smart meters mean no one answers the phone anymore.

We have had one for over two years, no one in family feels any smarter.

Hmmm Kenny . . . . Candle lit dinner, foggy night. If the beach house is a rockin', y'all don't come knockin'.

[QUOTE=Galveston340;180912]....I thought the "smart meters" were supposed to let the "COMPANY" know that there was a power outage? [B]There is no way that it's going to work when there is a dropped line as the meter can't talk to the server to verify an outage, however if enough were not talking to the server you would think that they knew something was hosed up...right?

As far as when a power outage occurs here I have some candles some "hide" left over here for light...
                    The freezer stays closed....
An old Coleman white gas two burner stove in case I get the munchies.

White gas takes me back. You must be a really old fart too.
BTW we have a gas stove, so I can cook....

Power came back on about 5:30.
