I was looking through the other site and a thread brought a memory that I would like to share. I started fishing in my uncle's 26 footer offshore boat. We would go every month and he really got the fire of fishing burning inside me while I was young. We would usually launch out of Freeport and head out from there.
One particular trip, it was just me, him and his friend. We were 30 minutes from Freeport when he stopped at a gas station to fill up. It was early in the morning and there wasn't many people around. Since it was so early I was asleep in the truck. My uncle and his friend got out to fill up. I suddenly woke up and sleepily went inside to go to the bathroom. Still half asleep, I came out and immediately woke up- the truck, boat and my uncle were gone. I was 7 or 8 at the time and I had no idea what to do. Twenty minutes from the ramp, my uncle finally noticed that I wasn't in the seat behind him. His friend later told me he panicked and was frantic trying to find me. I don't remember the results of the fishing trip, but I do remember how happy I was when I saw the truck and boat coming back to get me.
