  • The Sportsmans way Cont

As Jhua stated in a post earlier finding the "Sportsmans Way" is a wonderful thing! I found that way many years ago as a young man.I was able to rekindle that feeling last weekend. Here are my thoughts from last weekend.

I would like to add a note to the sportsmans way. I fished this weekends tourney and it wasn't our day.But we had a great time telling stories and trying to find the fish.I met a new fishing partner and really look forward to fishing with him again(Moe).Nothing better than hearing the story of a CCA winner about how he caught the "big one". Moe is a first class guy in my book!! Location still unknown!! LOL!! After dropping him off so he could head to the weigh in via truck. I braved the seas to run from Chocolate to go to the weigh in.That ride was quite an experience. As I should have expected it was a great time with friend from FWE. I had to make myself leave early. On the way back across west bay I shut the boat down and turned on the radio. Man there was nobody on the bay. I just truned up the country music and drifted for about 20 mintes while I enjoyed a cool one!! Thats ride back was about as close to nature that I have been in a long time. Since my last trip to the deer lease. I could have stayed out there all night!! I even called the ol lady and told her I might just stay on the boat! She said go ahead just let her know. Life is Good !!!! Find the "sportsmans way" and you will be right with yourself!! One of my favorite quotes "get busy living or get busy dying" from "Red" in Shawshank Redemption.

Reeltime, That when I knew you were worth fishing with. I really thought you would throw in the towel. But you didnt and you liked it. Thats why I like fishing with you.We sat out in some killer rain and you never once flinched or wanted to go in. Tide as so high we ran outta of the backside of New Bayou. We got caught in a serious storms and caught all those reds. Thats when you find out what your fishing buddies are made of!!! Thats was our first fishing trip together and we have had some great trips since then!! Cant wait till this Summer! Thats what makes this board so great you can meet some good friends on this site that you wont meet in day to day life.

Great read C-Dawg! I really enjoyed fishing "up yonder" in the bayou! C-Dawg knows what it's all about. Never in a huge hurry, real laid back, full of good stories (w/Reeltime-that's gotta be a hoot them two together), and not having to catch a ton of fish to count a trip successful! It was a little adventurous on the open water, however I'd fish with C-Dawg again anytime. Thanks again!
