When I hear "Diversionary" I tend to think Matagorda. Can someone educate me as to "Diversionary" as it relates to West Galv Bay? I need to learn !!

Was built to drain or "divert" runoff from the hitchcock / santa fe area (we used to flood really bad). Dumps out in between Harborwalk and Tiki into west bay. Runs roughly along the line of Basford bayou. Like they said -- lots of jet skis and wakeboarders due to the shelter from wind -- also really shallow at the mouth on a low tide ~ 3" at times. All blocked up with dredge pipe at the moment. I think you can still get out but be careful!

Hey Mike...I've heard that the banks of that ditch is lined with deep, sticky, slippery mud, & it is easy to bust your arse when trying to fish it from the bank. Any truth to that?

That's the deal, Rocky. If you don't live in the area, don't pick up the oysters. I heard there was four trout over 23" taken there last week in that hell hole.
