  • Bay Conditions This Week

It looks like we'll have 15-20 mph West wind dropping to 10-15 West through Wednesday evening, turning North 20-30 Thursday. We may see the lowest tides of the year.
Looking at a forecast low of the upper 30's Thursday and lower 40 Friday morning.

The hard dropping tides and heavy rains may move some fish out of Trinity and upper Galveston Bays into East & Lower Galveston Bay. It may also push some trout out of Chocolate into West Bay.

That's exactly what I've been waiting for.Let those tides drop 3-4 ft. below normal and you will start seeing those trout go into a true winter pattern. It seems like every January we get this strong front that pushes the water out and stacks those fish up.We needed this rain also, which won't hurt things either.

Ya forgot to add the 50% chance of rain for Saturday. Low tides, cold and wet-sounds like a movie title.

Good analogy. I hear some areas inland got 4-5" of rain. Runoff is going to move the trout in search of saltier water and when weather straightens out," Bam" as some say.

I guess I was right about the tides. Check out this picture from Fatboy's.
Some pictures of how low the tide is over on this side of the bay today (Smith Point-County Ramp). gb

Fat Boys had water back at the ramp when I passed by around 2:00 pm today, looked like you could launch but only head to the east towards the causeway.

Anyone know what it will be like putting in at causeway marina? Think the fishing will be good in that area
