This place rocks already. I don't know the owners or the family, I am just a satisfied customer. This is great news for a great restaurant in a great city. I can't wait to see what the outcome is.

Trust me, all the negative is total bull. Wanna-be be food critics and newpaper website bloggers always have something to say that is negative. Some people can't be pleased and are just a little more important than everyone else in the restaurant. My family and I have eaten there many, many times. Never had a bad experience. My worst fear is that the Food Network makes the interior look like a boutique and not a restaurant.Originally posted by Galveston340...sounds like they were in need of Chef Irvine's intervention!!
""I've eaten in this place several times. I found that it saved a lot of aggravation to just ask the server to surprise me. I never got what I ordered anyhow. Generally the food would show up sometime before the expiration date. This dump doesn't need a savior it needs an executioner.""
"" The food is gross and the clientele consists of just a bunch of crusty old seadogs who have to shout at each other in order to be heard at all. If their reboot drives that group away and begins to attract a younger customer base, and if the food really improves, then I'd consider returning. What I really wish is that Classic would serve breakfast on weekdays, or at least weekdays during holiday weeks.""
"" I went to the Pelican Grill one time and will never return - I don't care what they do to it. I was served a cold hamburger and then the server insisted that the hamburger was in fine condition and that I was being "a bit picky don't you think?" Maybe I would have been in a little better mood had I been served my food 45 minutes earlier (over an hour total wait for my food).""

yep, but why in the heck does it take a month to fix? sounds fishy."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Yeah ole king Tillman is sure giving my island a nice facelift. Problem is more friggin tourist. I'm hip with celebrations and the like but glad Mardi is over. Now I can go get my Marlboro's in the customary 5 minutes. Oh wait it's almost Spring Break.Originally posted by Galveston340...you know to be honest if half those "jackwagons" that gave bad reviews would take the time to look in the kitchens of most of those "high end" restaurants they would NEVER eat there again!
In my 32+yrs as working for the darn phone company I have been in quite a few and some of the stuff I have seen would make you want to pop someone upside the head. When a greasy spoon has slow service I'll wait for a bit but usually in a place like that you have the option of raising hell and things get fixed "pronto".
I have been in almost every joint on the Kemah Boardwalk and I guarantee there isn't one of them that I would ever eat in after seeing what goes on in "King Tillmans" establishments as far as their kitchens go.
...drive a little farther south into San Leon and eat some real food that is a heck of a lot cheaper and with more friendly fellow patrons!!

It's getting to be the time of year when my wife starts yelling "Get off my island!"."Curmudgeon only pawn in game of life."

For the same reason someone from Galveston would want to go to San Leon. Let's crunch the tourism numbers and see who goes where. That's why me and Bruce's wife can *****.Originally posted by Galveston340....why in the heck would anyone from either Bacliff want to go to Galveston when good old San Leon is right across the Spillway bridge?!!!
