Got an invite to fish lake Calcasieu With a buddy tomorrow morning! He has only fished there a handful of times and I've never fished there, does anyone have any tips on where to head or colors to throw? Im planning on taking the normal corky, tails, and topwaters just wondering if anyone has an opinion on specfic colors. Any Info is greatly appreciated thanks in advance!

You should have the lake to yourself with the Saints playing Sat. nite!! I have never been in January so I can't tell You what to throw, just try alot to find out what they want. Look for nervous bait and You should tear'em up! Have fun!!!

Use LSU (purple and chartreuse) bass assassins. We fish the marsh generally thru the locks on east side in Big Lake. You can also try over the many reefs drifting-also along the south shore. I wouldn't try wading (mud city). You could call the Boudreaux Brothers (in Hackberry-Brad Boudreaux)-they guide on their own and are not HR&G-great guys and they get into the marsh and will cover the heck outta the whole complex-I've made 20 mile runs with them all the way to Black bayou. Check out the drains from the marsh lakes. If you go through a lock, you may need a boat pass from Miami Corp. (jerks) and they (the locks) can be scary running through-height and current plus darn narrow. Once in marsh, it's muddy but you can plane out -no shell to bust up lower units-just mud like mad. You could also try the Poe's-good folks-Big Lake Guide Service.
Better get/have your license!!!"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
