The Auto-inflatable PFD worn while underway will save your life if you're thrown out of the boat with waders on. It can happen real fast too. The steering cable snaps and you're in the water. You hit something in the water and you may be in the water. You get the idea.
I had a neighbor several years back that drowned because he was wearing waders.
