  • contractor probably needed, waterdamage!!!

looks like in the near future I will ne a contractor. Woke up Tuesday to water flooded house. apparently the water heater in the second floor attic rusted out and ran all night and destroyed a lot of stuff. insurance is giving me crap and telling me the restoration company that did the emergency services says they can fix it all for around 6K. I call BS because my wood flooring cosy 9K 2 years ago. I know the economy is bad, but come on. They say they can dry it out since it is real wood, but it is warping and popping already. I am trying to get the de-humidiferiers out and get my own contractors after the holidays.

Who is your insurance company? I work for Flooring America and we are on national programs with almost all insurance companies. I started and run the department that handles insurance claims and know tons of people in the business including most local adjusters. I am certified my the NWFA (National wood flooring association) and NOFMA (National oak flooring manufacturers association.Who did the water mitigation? I know most of them also. Give me a call and I can get out there asap and let you know what needs to be done.I have an appt in League City at 8am tomorrow but am open after that.Chip 281-924-1832

Even with a gc you will have to have a flooring company. I know lots of GCs. We work directly with State Farm, USAA, Farmers, Allstate, Hartford, etc so they will still want an estimate from a flooring company and it sounds as though you have issues that are going to be very technical on the flooring. Glad to just come by and look at it for you and give you advice on that side of it. Let me know if I can help.

If it is servpro FW/Pearland, get that done quickly. Had to fix a lot of their work. There are some really good GCs around but some bad ones also. Gotta be careful.

x2 about what chip said about saying so long to servpro.I've had at least two customers that had issues with them.Btw Bryan also see how much more it would be to relocate the water-heater in the future.
