When I power up my GPS it has a screen that says short in antenna!! Who can re crimp the end fitting to see if that is where the short is? Or bt a new cable. Its a garmin 232. I really dont need the GPS except for early mornings rns and when drifting reefs. OK I need it alot. Anyway hope I can fix it on the cheap!

See if you have any friends that are HAMs. Assuming the antenna cable is coax 75/50 ohm they may be able to help you. You may check with EPO in Webster they probably know someone. Ike wiped out all my test equipment and I haven't replaced it so I can't be of much help.
