Line for Curado 50e. For tops.

So I purchased a couple 50e during that sale. What line do you recommend I spool them with. Gonna try my hand at tops this upcoming year and I was wondering if tops work better with different lines? ( braid, fluoro, mono ). Been using my 200e7 with 40lb power pro for flounder but I noticed im getting lots of wind knots. If braid im thinking im going to try the Cortland Master Braid line. Let me know what you guys think.

I have 3 of the 50e's now thanks to Academy's Curado sale. All 3 of mine are spooled with 10 lb Berkley Big Game in clear. I have been fishing with one Cuado 50e for over a year now and that's the only line I use on it. Works great!!!! But I fish for Trout 99.9% of the time so I don't mind a little stretch that I get with mono, especially with topwaters. During the redfish tourneys I spooled the one with braid and the distance was no where near what it was with braid.

I like Stren 14# low vis green. never tried braid. never had to. My curado and cruxius get my bait away from the boat pretty good with this line and can't remember losing too many unless it was at the leader next to the barrel swievel due to a hastily tied knot.

I have a couple 50 E’s and I use Berkley big game #15 it spools up perfect with no wasted line... And perfect for top water fishing the #15 doesn't have the line stretch and is solid for a good hook set... That is the reason I use the Berkley Big Game hunter green in the #15 test... Amen

Pimp don't forget to put your reel on the dashboard with the heater on high top warm that line up before you get there. I'm pretty sure the ten pound mono with a tuned reel should win this challenge hands down.

What are you guys using as leader material tied to the top and do you use a swivel to the main line?

I use about 2 to 5' of 20 lb Berkley Big Game mono for my leader. Throwing Corkys I like to tie direct or fishing tourneys. Fun fishing or on charters I will use the Tony's or the Norton quick clips. I just tie the 10 lb test to the 20 lb test. No swivels used when i join the two lines together. If i snag a Corky or an Assassin on shell I can reel the tip down to the bait and most of the time nudge it off. The knot I can reel easily through the eyes. The swivel not so easy. Just the way that has always worked well for me.
