  • Galveston Island State Park

I'm heading out before the sun comes up to chase the reds and hopefully find some flounder. I will be launching the yak from the main road at the very end. Does anyone have any advise as to which direction I should head from there? I have never fished from this area. I would like to make this a productive outing, so any advise would be much appreciated.

DIA, I usually use the put in at Oak Bayou. It's not very crowded and an easy tote. Work your way down the bayou and work the reefs and geo tubes. Pull up google maps and you can see them.
Also, remember the park doesn't open until 7, so It may be hard to get out there very early. You can also put in at Lake Como to the east of the park. There's a ramp next to the defunct Waterman's Restaurant.
If you feel like putting it off a day, I'm planning on hitting that area Sunday. PM me if you want.

Head north or let the south wind be your friend and fish outside the geo tubes and all drains and cuts.Opps bruce beat me to it.Have fun and Bruce is dead on.
