  • Rockport trip

So tonights ny last night here in rockport and the winds are horrible. Wednesday we got here and took a recon trip into copano caught a few dink trout and put my gf on her first spec ever. While fishing our dock that night I caught and landed the biggest drum I've ever caught over 40lbs. I'll post the picture when I get home. Thursday morning the gf and I watched the weather come in and ruin my run to the bay with my dad, so my parents and gf went to corpus to mess around for the day. Friday my dad and brother hit redfish bay and the surrounding grass flats and bays and tore them up. And finally today, me and my brother ran to some back lakes north west of copano to snag some reds. Caught a few but they were all an inch or 2 under, few hook UPS and break offs....then again the weather moved in on us and had to run back to the bay house. Sorry for such a long post, but all in all this trip was much needed. BTW, that drum was caught on a ttf killer flats minnow, 10lb test, and my trout master lite.....I can't believe it didn't break off.

I can say one thing, being able to see down 4 feet in the water straight to the bottom like a pool is awesome. I wish galveston was like this.

Those flats hold some nice fish among the pot holes or grass.
