I don't think anyone is messing with him...like they taught in school...there are no dumb questions! Owning that motor will make him a mechanic soon enough...get out on the water and break down a few times...you learn REAL quick like!

I rode in that boat last monday morning it ran great it had all the power needed it was quite for an older 60 hp there were 3 big guys in the 18 ft wide n deep jon boat its atarted great. It did not smoke ,I complemented him on a great older boat and yes he said he did not put all the recommended oil in it .I grab the fly wheel and theres no resistance it just spins.

Ok...not arguing...just an older motor = more maintenance= faster learning curve. Been there done that...1970 Johnson 60hp 3 carbs that loved to stick. Tore them down more times than I wanna remember on Todds Dump, middle of Dickenson Bay, Moses Lake........believe me I know! Glad he's got a good one though!

It's already been solved I posted on the first page. It wasn't as easy as a kill switch just slipping in the side, it had come loose inside of the control box which took forever which was a major pain to get off - ask dog. It happens!

Thanks for all the help fellas (dawg, bubba, buoy etc.) and yes, I am a newbie to 2 strokes said that on the first page...learning slowly and not ashamed of it!!! Cheers.

Lol you asked me to check the kill switch and it was plugged in on the side. From looking at it you couldn't tell anything was wrong because the button on the side looks exactly the same. It's the inside that was the problem. The harness inside of the control box popped loose so that control box with the throttle had to basically be ripped off the side of the boat and opening it was a major pain. I wouldn't change a thing either we caught us lotsa fish!!! Don't think we coulda fixed it on the water without Mr. Dawg's help.

Anyways, I have your ice chest so give me a call. Also have your towel. Let's hook up this week and fish some and I'll get it back to ya.

I was being a lil sarcastic and yeah, I saw you got it fixed. Glad it wasn't much, and hopefully that motor gives you years of enjoyment. Boat ownership...will make you a certifiable mechanic, electrician, plumber, and bodyman...or it'll just make you certifiable, not sure which one?

That would have been a tough one to find for any mechanic, glad you got it going, was afraid you were going to need a motor. Maybe one day I will get an invite on that fish catching machine.

I thought about about telling him to lick it. If it tingled his tongue like a 9-volt batt, he is good to go.

I talked myself out of it.
