    anyone ever used or own one of these reels??? lookin at these real hard instead of gettin a baitcaster...the new paladin gear system is suppose to be a new top notch revolution in spinning reels..

    You can hardly go wrong with Shimano. I've still got a couple old bottom of the line $20 Shimanos and they are just fine after over 12 years and getting dunked and heaven knows what in Katrina. I prefer the robust feel of the old Penn SS series, but they don't make them anymore.
