Ahhhhhhh ok. I got them in a big ol bag of lures for my bday.. ill give em a whack today. If yall see a bald guy in a grey shirt with 3 women on the water out by seawolf say hello.
I've used them but haven't had as much success as I have on corkies. Caught maybe one fish on them...could be a confidence thing but I definitely gave it a shot. As Kenny said, I think they are cheap copies of corkies which I know work...I'd spend the extra $$ and just buy the real thing!!
I set my hook like I am fishing for tuna even if I am fishing for trout. Call me tuna Joe!
I plan on it. I'm new to the lures as this year has been then first year I have ever had any luck on lures. I'm also dying to get some spooks in my arsenal. Besides ultimate tackle, where else can u get spooks? Academy? My most hit rig has been my double old school spec rig, gold spoon, and pumpkin/charteuese anything. Please give the advice if u have it, cuz its definitely needed.
I don't think you can go wrong with any spook/skitterwalk/spook jr./mirr-o-lure top water. I personally keep two or three of each with me because they are all 4 differently sized and sound different to the fish. Color is debatable but I think a few people can attest to it making a difference every now and again...I think it's more the sound than the color. Lately, white or bone has been a really solid color on top and any other color has just been much less productive (for us). Fish have been feeding on white shrimp in our area, when we fillet them that's what we see.
For soft plastics I personally am really digging anything by TTF or bass assassin. I know people who have used tidal surge with great success. I personally like the miss. Trout Killers as they have the softness of a bass assassin but hold up a bit longer...I used the same trout killer for 5 or 10 fish on average. Morning glory, bone/chartreuse and plum/chartreuse are three solid colors to start out with without getting too confused. Jhua uses the morning glory hackberrys almost exclusively and does really well on them.
For someone newer to artificial, I'd highly recommend gulp slow rolled on bottom with a few twitches. Termo turned me on to the lime tiger but any color will probably work. I think it's more the scent that it gives off with the teriyaki bang sauce they put on it...lmao.
Anyways, this is what has been working for us hope this helps.

I definitely appreciate the advice. Like I said any and all will help. Gonna start off pushing live shrimp today and work my way to the lures. And soak some croaker as well, so we shall see. Like I said this will be the first time actually on the water in a long time besides fresh water.
If you are targeting flounder in a fairly shallow area (<2ft) you should give the Salt Water Assassin curly tail in salt and pepper a try. I have had pretty good luck on this by slow rolling it and bouncing it off of the bottom.
Tsunamis work fine, but they're cheaply made and fall apart. I had the eyes come off in my tackle box.
Don't forget Gulp. The spice glow shrimp are excellent for trout and the chartreuse curly tails are deadly on flounder. If you use them, throw away the package they come in and replace them with regular ziplocs. The Gulp bags don't reseal worth a &$%*!
