The wind was howling yesterday, but it was the only day I could get out, so I decided to run to Sheldon Reservoir again for a little bass action. On the water about 4:30 and off at 8:00 with the wind still blowing about 25.
My coworkers husband got back from Iraq last week after a one year tour and was itching to get out on the water, so I took him with me. I wish the weather would have allowed us to hit the bay since he has never been saltwater fishing and I have been promising to take him.
We got on the water about 4:30 and threw everything in the box at them. I caught 3 on a rapala, spinnerbait and a buzzbait up to 1 1/2 lbs and then hooked up with a good one about 4 lbs that jumped way out of the water and laughed at me when he spit the hook. There was another boat out there and the guy "said" he caught and released a 6 lber, so at least I know there are some nice fish in the lake.
Mike had fun, but only got one blowup the entire day.
Good luck to anyone brave enough to get out in these winds! It looks better for the weekend, but I will be in San Antonio visiting Shamu with the littleuns.
