Any good advice, articles or threads on painting your own lures?

    Any good advice, articles or threads on painting your own lures?

    Just wondering who all out there does this or has had some experience doing it?

    I have this bone skitterwalk laying around and I basically just want to paint this thing a gnarly color like chicken on a chain or watermelon red. Possibly even chartreuse eyes and a holographic black/bone/chartreuse glittered body for the super muddy days. And also pink skitter with chartreuse glittered sides and chart eyes.

    A friend told me that you can just air brush it or spray paint it and layer it with marine epoxy or something from home depot.

    Where can I buy cool spray paint colors and get the glitter flakes? Also the epoxy (which one should I use)?

    Gonna do a big batch of watemelon red, chicken on a chain, and pink with chartreuse sparkle skitterwalks gonna look sick when I'm done if anyone on FWE wants a spook or skitterwalk done PM me and I'll hook you up with either. Gonna buy the paint today. These things are gonna be glittery as all get out so when the sun comes out...

      Lmao naw....I'll hook u up with some dope colors when I get good @ it. I just think it would be something fun to do on the side when I'm not fishin ha ha. I will make u a special lure the jhua special it will have a ninja mask on white and chart

        I use red permanent markers on some offshore lures to add some color. Not sure it does anything but those lightning bolts look cool!!

          I'd be somewhat concerned about adding a lot of weight to it-make it walk funny-the glitter will flake, making it look like scales???? may work-wonder if you can impart some fish oil stuff in it???

          Michaels for glitter and hobby craft stuff or hobby lobby. heck even Walmart. Epoxy-try super glue! (All-if ya see a guy with glitter super glued to his fingers, it's Ubermensch!!)

            I will make you one too...it will be the obama special with his face on the front and an american flag wrapped around it do u want a spook or skitter lol

                  I would like for an Obama Lure-goes good next to my "Turd" lure, bad part is it prolly costs $15 TRILLION and don't do ****!! Spook. Shouldn't it be a Chinese Flag!???
