West Jumbile Cove

This used to be one of my favorite spots. The back West corner of Jumbile, near Ostermeyer bayou.
The dredging and island building seem to have really blocked getting back in there except at high tides, and the gut coming out of Roosters' cut is jacked up too.
Anyone have any luck back in there these days?

With my boat that is a walk in spot for me, depending on how much rain we've have on whether or not you can drive back there and park, if you're not careful you can get towed...I like to fish it in April and have caught some good trout back there in years prior to the island building, but haven't been back there very much at all since all the construction was completed...also have stuck some nice flatties in the gut both size and numbers...to bad it is jacked up, I thought the islands would be a positive thing for the fish.

I have puttered around back there Kenny and have not caught anything...I think the changes in the topography will and is changing the fish patterns back there...in the long run it looks like it will be pretty decent...may take more time is all. Now that is more sheltered I would think that the grass would increase as well...

Kenny-I went back there a few days ago to check things out. I found that some of my old spots were changed but found some new structure as well.

We need Brad's BTC to run through there so we don't ding our boats up and have him take us on a scouting trip!!! That BTC can run shallow-I don't go in except to old spot on east side because of all the new dredge material and not sure where it is-Jumbile can be very good at times, especially with the dredge cuts of 5' of water next to 2' of water.

Because I've been at SLP, Matagorda, or oh yeah, Cabo! You can stay there now, but when I get back...you better move along!

Yeah, that's a secret spot for sure. The good news is that hunting and football have started so the bay is pretty quiet.
