Invest 96 looks to be building in the Bay of Campeche. Most likely will fall back into Mexico but without strong steering currents it may drift NE. Models are all over the place....

Yeah there's a big dome of hot descending air over Texas, and high pressure cell. That tends to push away any low pressure cells. When Lee formed, it was only because the high pressure relaxed a few notches. That said, if the storm spins around the Bay of Campeche for a long time and builds, there is a chance of coming sorta close to Texas. We actually want the storm to track up I-35 so the east side of it would provide some rain.
