  • Quick recon to Surfside 9/3 10:30hrs

    Forget going fishing.

Wind is howling from NORTH NORTH EAST at 20+.
Tide was extremely high and hauling arse going out.

    Surf was huge.
    Surfers all over the place.
Surfside has closed their beach to vehicular traffic.
West End Anglers - You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

That's odd. The surf here was maybe chest high at dawn and blowing flat quick.

So since the surf is flattening out and should clear up a bit, would it be worth fishing from the rock groins or even 61st st pier?

Tide was huge last night. I hit the old KOA around 10:15pm and the water level was above the docks at the ramp, about 3 inches from coming into the parking lot.

I stayed for quite a while with HarryK, Robalo, and Oleander. I was thinking there might be water over the Blue Water Highway, but there wasn't any.

It is the opposite of clear when you have extreme n winds. Any east in the wind will push in good water.
However, you seem pretty determined and seem to catch something in those adverse conditions. You never know your next PB could be out there.
