  • Place close to Stingaree (Bolivar) for Kid fishing

    Hey guy.

I will be down at the beach house this weekend and need an ez place to take the kids to rip some lips. Kids are 3 and 4 so anything is great.

Are there any rig/pumps close to the Stingaree boat launch.......I will have my boat

Or do any of you guides want to take us out.

your best bet is the reefs and croaker out there just slow drift fishing on a circle hook. look for the big white poles and get in line. but im no expert.

Anchor. You can hit the old wells near the Bolivar Point (Half Moon Shoal field) or anchor up near hannah's reef-not too far a run. Or near a drain by Yates or Big Pasture bayous.

I gew up fishing that area with my long lost buddy Capt Rick!!!! Funny thing in Rick died about 6-7 years ago and i had forgoten about that side of the bay. Did the storm a few years ago mess up Moses/Dollar any? We spent lots of days at Hannahs and plenty of hours over in Dollar and Moses.

          RIP Capt Rick!

Dollar and Moses are quite a ride from Stingaree, especially with lil kids. Like I mentioned above, why not hit the mouth of Yates or Big Pasture bayous -both are close to Stingaree. Even Hannahs or Bull Shoals or well pads probably beats running to Dollar Flats-plus fish are in deep water pattern due to heat, so as Goldspoon said, try soakin some croaks and shrimp in 4-6' of water-them "white poles" mark Hannahs and Bull shoals. I aint been to Dollar Flats in years-used to fish Dickinson Bay and Dollar/Pelican alot-now mainly fish west. I don't think it messed up that area-mainly was east bay that got trashed by debris fields and most has been cleared out.

Out of stingaree go through the cut and hang a left, that whole shoreline all the way down has been holding fish all summer, if you drive down and launch out of Bolivar yacht basin there is a yellow rig straight through the cut that if you fish ion bottom about a hundred yards off the southwest corner has been producing real good lately
I dont always drink beer, but when i do , I prefer to be fishing !!!!!

Bull shoals is not marked so be very very careful and look for the water ripping across it.

I second the mouth of Big Pasture, and the shoreline to the left of Stingrae cut. Look for slicks, and anchor up.
