Project "OVERLOAD" - Beach Trailer Build

[PBD539 - Shoal Patrol]

And so begins my odyssey. With only 6 working weekends left before Sharkathon, its crunch time. I still have 5 rods to build, countless leaders to make, bs to gather up & fabricate my new "used" beach/fishing/camping trailer.

I procured this 6x12 trailer from my job a few weeks ago. Got one hell of a deal on it!

When finished it will have:
full safari rack/fishing platform
removable guard rails (front & back) w/ rod holders & light poles
slide out awnings
etc.

So far I have remove one of the two steel shelf racks which were installed inside & removed the fenders. I will be re-sealing and painting the roof over the next few days. Early next week a friend of mine at SAS Automotive will be giving it a red automotive paint job (to match the Jeep). After that the rack gets fabed and installed.

I will continue to post pics and updates as work goes on.

Add a window a/c and sheez, you could live in it!! I could use that at deer lease-cool.

It will remain enclosed. The rack will be supported by risers welded to the under-frame (two at the front, two just in front of the fenders & two welded to the top of the rear door steel frame). No part of the fabrication will touch the aluminum skin.
The awnings will slide out from under the safari rack & have canvas sections that will "bungi" on to the awning frame. The side shown in the picture will have an awning the full legnth of the trailer & out about 6'. On the other side there is a door at the front. This area will have a 6'x6' slide out & a canvas "wall", as it will serve as the chit & shower area.
Inside there is a steel shelving rack on one wall & plenty of floor space for an air mattress. The trailer will be plug & play for the electrical (lights, outlets, audio).

no body told me that. But if you get a generator that runs a 5000 btu a/c you are way up in a small space in my small knowledge level. Really.

Right now I am going to borrow a generator to run the lights and sound. Next year I may install an a/c. The only issue would be it freezing up due to the environment and running constantly.

I should have new pics of the roof paint job by monday. Thinking about a big Texas flag after I put down the sealing rubber coating. Early next week I will drop it off for the sides to be painted. Then, hopefully, next weekend, the fabrication will begin. Only 6 weeks to go!

PINS is fascinating once you get down in 4x4 territory. I've made the trip all the way to the channel 3 times. Big shell and little shell, heck yea!
Have a blast and take plenty of pictures. Nice project you got going on there too.
If you don't mind frozen beer and Briney water you can make your ice last 4 days in a plain ice chest.
