  • Texas City Dike?

Thinking of heading down to the TCD, but I haven't been since the hurricane, and was wondering if anyone knew if it was even accessible anymore?

    Thanks

I don't believe the dike is, skyline drive on the other hand shouldn't be a problem.

If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!

People have been fishing off skyline. I haven't been down there myself yet. Just be careful where you step, probably allot of debris over there.

I just heard the other day that Tackle Time will be going on this year... Inshore Only.
With that being said, about 1 mile of the Dike is supposed to be open by Mid June, to include the first boat ramp.

Talk to Jason over at Boyds Saturday and he said that Dollar Point Marina is open. This ramp is not to bad but can be difficult on low tides. He charges a $5 dollar ramp fee. But the guy does watch the vehicles very well. This is where I will start launching in June.

You really need a shallow water boat for that ramp. I used to wade that whole area growing up and during a low tide, there are areas around there that are knee deep.... and that was when I was peddling a bicycle to get to my hot spots.

Yea on the low winter tides you can forget about it. But I have never had any trouble there outside of winter. My 24 footer does ok there.
