I know from years of experience that if you really want to get good at catchin the bay fish you need to get into their environment with them. That means wading and stayin at it. It will pay off. I was lucky and never got nailed by my only fear, STINGRAYS. Had my catch taken by sharks many times and had no fear of them but, their flat cousins are why I quit wading.
That's the front deck of my Boatright....upper Trinity Bay yesterday. I also lost two more fish, and the topwater lures !!....the Sharks took it all !.....lol.
You know how they invented flounder giggers, right? It goes back to the Battle of Normandy during a big WWII assault. One ole boy started to look a little crazy, and the guys didn't trust him with live ammo no more. So they got a wooden gun with a plastic bayonet on it and told the young fella you act all crazy and yell out BANGETY-BANG, STABBITY STAB loud as he could. So they got into the theater and this German looking soldier was a-running at him fast as he could screaming TANKETY-TANK, TANKETY TANK. Somehow our man cold-clocked the crazy German into submission and all the guys started following him on the invasion ... the rest is history.
To this day you can say BANGETY-BANG, STABBETY STAB to these giggers 'n' folks and they'll give you a **** eating grin.
