I know not everyone who went there is super-liberal. I was speaking in generalizations of course. JT, you know comparing Tulane to ANY public university is like apples and oranges. I went there because it was an opportunity for a great education. I wasn't slamming anyone out of envy, just giving my objective, outsider, yet informed opinion. I've spent a lot of time on campus there and there's a lot of granola rolling around.

Only the cream of the crop of HS graduates can attend The University of Texas and atm-the other schools take the rest. In Sleaziana, what school is the top? LSU? Nope, any moron can go there and their academic standards are very low. Tulane? Maybe, but only for Law School. USL, now ULaLa-I think the USL name was appropriate-stood for University of Slow Learners. Nichols-No comment-wear your shrimp boots. LA Tech-yep, if your family tree don't fork and you always say "My you sure have a purdy mouf." at your family reunions. UNO-named after a card game-kinda says it all. Jimmy Swaggerts' University in Baton Rouge-pretty sure it's closed since Jimmy was "saved" by a very sleazy hooker on Airline HWY in Kenner at a class motel.
As far as "liberals" at Austin-yes, many exist-probably because the art and music crowds more than anything and the dreaded influx of those wackos from Californianutsoland. When I was at Texas, I saw many foreigners be berated for Iran in the 70's-that aint liberal. Conservatives hated Iranians and Assihola Khomeini and their kidnapping of US citizens and taking sovereign soil (embassy)."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

As for my knowledge of the UT campus, I can only speak for the time period from 1996-present. I don't know why everyone is upset about the truth of UT at Austin though. I'd simply like people to be able to admit to themselves what the place is now. I'm not just talking about Austin. I'm talking about the University itself.
I can't understand why anyone would decide to attack Louisiana schools in retribution. Is it really necessary to state the obvious? While I love my home, I realize that there are many deficiencies. Texas has a far finer educational system. Why do you think I moved here? Everyone that knows me knows that I have a deep seated hatred for LSU, even if I must begrudgingly admit that they have improved their academics greatly in recent years (athletes not included of course). Tulane is the #1 academic school in the state. Everyone knows that. I'm not talking Law, Medical, and other graduate schools. I'm talking undergrad too. Though they do house the #1 Maritime Law program in this hemisphere. There are some programs that, as a small school they do not have, and you'll therefore have to go elsewhere for those. In my opinion, there is no finer school on the map between Rice to the West and William and Mary to the East. Of course I'm not talking athletics here. Aside from the glory years and the 1998 perfect season, Tulane football has been a tough sell. There have been years indeed where I think a good high school team could have busted them up. Baseball has always been respectable though. Doesn't stop me from being a fan. I just hope JT's boy doesn't put too much of a hurt on them this year. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

A degree opens a door-it's the person that earned it is what counts. I am just glad I eventually graduitated. Look where it got me-I bust my rear 9-10 hours a day, 5 days a week, get to fish and hunt some and dislike Obama and his gang-I'm happy pretty much. I figure someday, when I retire from the oil biz, I'll meet more folks-lots of them-and everyday-as a Greeter at Walmart-all thanks to "Give-it-away Barry"!! I'm just a messin with ya some! School spirit is great-libs sux, especially when the ladies go "french" and never shave-arrggghhh-remember that back in school when ya met some hippie chick that had more hair under her arms than you-uggghhh."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security.
