Man I couldnt even bring myself to read your thread after reading the title I already had that feeling behind my eyes....I hate seeing my old boy turn gray and limp around stoved up sore after hunts. Just a stark reminder that the end isnt that far away. So sorry for your loss brother

So sorry for your loss. Yes, it is hard to loose such a good friend. I so hope you find a new furry faced friend that gives you the same joy. Its worth knowing you can love like that and be loved like that.

I'm sorry for your loss. Pets ARE family, and it's amazing how attached you can get to those animals. Remember the good times ya'll had.
Corgies are cute dogs. Anyone watch Cowboy Bebop?

Tough go for you Uber. Any loss is always very sad. Just think of all the nice memories and that may help over time.

Sorry for your loss. I have been through a couple and it is equivalent to losing your best friend, which unfortunatelyhas happened twice as well. It is nice that you and your mother were able to spend the last moments with your dog before the passing.
Our "Bear" is a member of our family, my daughter (5) refers to him as her brother. We would be devastated if we lost him.
Thanks for bringing up the turned stomach issue. I forgot about that since seeing Marley but I am going to research it a bit more.

Man, my prayers are with you. At 24 I had experienced enough of this to know how to deal with it. It is EXACTLY like losing a loved one of the human kind. In my opinion, people that don't understand that have never had a proper connection with their pets. You might remember the book and movie, Marley and Me. Marley had the same affliction. Time will pass, it will hurt less, but you'll never forget her . . . . and you shouldn't. It is my considered opinion that if heaven is as they say it is, our pets will be there to greet us. Without them, how could it be Heaven? This sort of pain is what tells you that you're a good man. Some people care little for animals, and it shows the kind of person they are. Blessings to your family. - Sandy

After my Cowboy died.....he was a holiday fatality, got hit in the parking lot of the Stop-N-Stay......I swore that I'd never get another dog. Then two years ago I decided my wife needed a baby to googoo. We took in a little lost Yorkiepoo we named Dolly.Originally posted by JT View Postman im sorry ubermensch..that hurts and it sucks. when my old dog needed to be put down, i made 4 trips to the vet and circled around and came back home before i could do it on the 5th trip.... ive been in a 4 hour car trip w/ a dog that died w/ me and my Mother and had to endure that; and i know she looked at that dog like a child.
Thats why i dont care to own another dog and never will.
I knew the Mrs needed a baby, but didn't know I need one! LOL
Now I'm considering buying a lilac Cadillac so she can sit in my lap when we cruise the parking lot at the Whataburger!

Ubermensch, I'm sorry for your loss and you and your dogs. It is so incredibly tough to lose an animal you love no matter what the situation is. I had to put down my baby boy Chuy a few months back and It hurt like heck. He's my screensaver now and everyday I tell him good morning. But no matter how painful the loss may be I'd have each one of them again in a heartbeat. Not two months after Chuy died another dog came into our lives. Scout is a great new addition to our family. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I hope you, your mom & Charity heal quickly. You're in my family's prayers.

Thats a crushing story, to have her look you in the eye and then put her head in your lap...I'm sorry man.
I've never heard of a "trurned stomach" until I seen the movie, "Marley and Me". I love my dog and easily like him more than most people I know so I can feel for you.
This was hardly your fault and you can't give CPR to anything that is still breathing unless it's what is know as agonal respirations.
It may be hard to believe at this moment but time can heal heartbreaks and it's ok to ocasionally cry over something like this years after the fact.
RIP Bali, and take care.
