Doesn't look like a halibut.......hard for me to believe a flounder could get that big....I was on the boat with a buddy when he gigged one over 11lbs and this thing dwarfs it.sigpic

Lol never crossed my mind that this could not be a flounder - saw it on some forums for catches in Galveston. It was late and just assumed it was a flounder.

i thought had read somewhere that florida and other places in the gulf have a different species of flounder that is very similar to the southern flounder, but gets much larger. With all the darker people around this might be cuba or somewhere around that area.Comment
