I figured this would be the place to ask! I am in St. Petersburg Florida staying on a boat, and have silver kings rolling all around. I have tried SS Jr various 51MR and Mirrodine XL. Anyone have any suggestions without going the bait route? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, I would love to jump a tarpon before we sail out on Thursday!

Try a Bass Assassin or Exude Dart in either with a jig head or weightless. Or if you can get your hands on some sort of small bucktail or feather jigs try them. When you seem them roll try to cast right where they are rolling almost like hitting them in the head. Jumped a few near Punta Gorda a while back as well as in Islamorada a long while back. Also try a gold or silver spoon doing the same thing. Good luck man get ya one!

Rig a crab using a circle hook and 40-60 pnd floro leader with a circle hook. use 2 ft of floro on the leader and rig using albright knot instead of using a swivel. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/783208...fishing_knots/
Pitch the crab about 20 ft up current where they are rolling. No weight required. Let crab drift back like it is sucked out with current. Once bit, only reel, don't set hook.
If using a lure, make sure your presentation is away from the fish. They get spooked when their food swims at them. Feed them at a 45 degree angle crossing the fishes face swimming away.
