I grew up on stocked farm tanks and creeks. You need to treat it the same as the bay. Every piece of water is different and has it's own biological system, patterns, bottom, etc which will affect how the fish feed. During the heat of summer I have good luck on top early and late and then go deep with carolina rigged worms...depending on the grass beds I will sometimes use very little weight and bounce plastic off submerged grass as they will sit down on it waiting on bait to pass through. See any shade??? Throw to it... After watching the water for a while you should be able to see what's moving and where if the body of water is small enough.

avacado yamamoto worm rigged weedless with a rattle inside, watermelon worm same with rattle, and the small skitterwalks and spook jrs are good for them too.
