Surf in the morning

Fished Sunday A.M.

We were in the water by sunrise at 16 mile road this morning. Stuck 8 trout, all in the 20" class but the bite was over by 9. Surf was ok at first light, but got rough and dirty by mid-morning.

Drove down to the pass after we finished up; the water did not look good, at all.

Lots of folks in the surf this morning, will have to read the other reports and see how they did.

Good luck, hope you string a limit.

I'm sure hoping the sand settles out. It was beautiful this morning but too sporty for this kid!

"Sporty" is a good way to describe it.

Had my Dad with me, but the surf was just too much for him.

But it's tough to beat watching the sun come up and catching trout.

Woke up at 0630...and caught 2 skipjacks on pink devil eyes...then said screw it and went back in the camper and slept til 8:30 before rigging down driving home,,,,and going to work! Blaaaaaaaaaa,,,,,,,

Reeltime and I will be harassing trout in the morning.. hope some of the sand drops out.

Michael & I hit the surf in Terramar about 5:30 this morning. I was really hoping to pick up some trout, so I actually went and bought some live shrimp. Michael was throwing spoons and touts. The waves were starting to lay down, but it was still a bit of a challenge. The water color and visibility was terrible. There was hardly any bait in the water. Nothing was hitting the shrimp. I could cast the same bait for 10 of 15 minutes without losing it. We chunked for about 4 1/2 hours and all we caught was one sandy, one dink trout, one 14" sand shark and and 18" hammer head. I hope everyone else did better.
At least I finally got to fish with mjh. We've been trying to hook up for the better part of a year!
