Sometimes, against my better judgement, I'll read through a Houston Press (liberal, muck raking, yellow journalism). I found this gem, of an old men's magazine cover, posted on their site:
At his baptism, Sam Houston was told his sins were washed away. He reportedly replied, “I pity the fish downstream.” - Nov. 19, 1854 - Independence, Texas
Haha. Too funny! I once went to a mass with my sister's volleyball team when they were out at a tourney. The priest was real old school and made all of the girls put on skirts from a back closet over their short volleyball shorts. He later preached to us how Galveston deserved to get hit by Ike because it's a hell-hole filled with sin and homosexuality. Going to that mass was counter-productive for my morality.
