If you see reds tailing a grass shoreline...what's your go to lure?

Just curious as to what seems to produce the most consistent strikes for you guys if you had to pick JUST one lure (yes another one of those threads ha ha, they're fun!).

For me I wish I could say it was a top-water but it's actually just the sand eel jr. in chartreuse lol. Caught two 24" reds within about 2 minutes today in upper West Bay which were just blowing up mullet on the shorelines. The water was off color but bait was everywhere and reds were blowing up like crazy! Couldn't make them hit the super spook jr. but that's probably just user error .

any type of paddle tail. tequila gold bull minnow or a killer flats minnow.

I have only seen tailing reds twice in my short fishing career. Throw whatever you have ready to go unless you are targeting them. I am a huge fan of finger mullet sized swimbaits. Now, thanks to castaway300, crankbaits have my full attention.

Any bass assasin will work just get it out in fron of them and when they get to it just bounce it once or twice and you got them. I learend the topwater will spook them sometimes.

Bone Spook Jr or whatever soft plastic within reach. Usually a chartreuse paddle tail.

I have a 1/2 oz. wedge type spoon that I painted dark green. I present it in front of em' with a slight twitch/bump along the bottom. I try to kick a little bottom dust, I beleive they think it's a small crab. We all know they like crab candy.

I second Michelle, Baby Tran Cat, Moe, Lurefisher, and Fishalot on lure choice. I have found that presentation (not spooking them) and/or having the bait already in a good position that you can move it with some form of action (bouncing it, etc.,) that gets their attenion is the ticket.

I have yet to have that experience either. I wade & kayak. Can't wait to see that for the 1st time. Even if I don't catch one. Probably won't. Be too excited and probably do something like hit them in the head, get a huge birds nest, drop the rod, "fill in the blank".
