Port Aransas

Im heading down there in August for a lil vacation for 5 days at Port Royal. Planning on doing some surf/wade fishing while im there I know the water is more clear than what we have here but do the tactics and baits vary from the ones used here in the Galveston Complex ? Any insight or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

It's not that different, the same stuff will work. The big difference is you might hang a Tarpon!

yup. I stay at Port Royal at a friends condo. We hooked up on some tarpon in the surf right there in front of the condo's. I fished the same way down there that I do up here.

they do have a big pool there. be careful if you are single, there's a bunch of jail bait hanging out. don't ask.

Also its worth renting a golf cart...usually like 250 for the weeknd thurs-sund...kinda fun takin it literally everywhere but the ferry

Right on... I was down there weekend before last for a bachelor party we got 2 of the big ones....we were like 15 deep in the house we had rented so it made things alot easier piling in them to go anywhere as a group

you need to hit up charlies pasture ,its north of the prt A. ferry side! or south of the ferry at the park !

You can also drive to rockport for some good wadefishing,behind the airport on copano bay.There is a new county park >
