Thursday Morning Surf

Hey Moonpie, I was at the MOB early this morning.
There were about 15 other waders there, and bite lasted only an hour.
I caught 8 in the 20" range.
All on plum/chart TTF tails.
The surf was a little rough and there were large rafts of seaweed about.

After the trout bite died,I then moved 1/4 mile down the beach to throw spoons for macks.
Got spooled by a shark and called it a day. Dang ol shark!

Figures. I'm always over in the bay getting rat reds when the surf is good. Should've read this last night. Although, I was set on repeating yesterday's good catch.

Oh lord, when will I learn.

No problem. Boy did we lose a bunch. Tails and fish that is! Funny thing is, I went and bought some of the Hackberry Hustlers this afternoon. I need to quit fishing with you, I always end up buying more.

Sorry Mike.....Haven't had time to write a report. Mike gave me a couple and we threw a bunch back!

MOB = Mouth of the Brazos
Go to Quintana, hit the beach and drive west till you can't.
Be careful if you go,strong currents and fast dropoffs....I notice two concrete cross memorials that were new there.

Green to the beach and a little bumpy but fish were thick!

I caught 8, lost 3 at the net this morning. Now I am at work.

We fished the surf close to the jetties yesterday evening and caught probably 15, a few macks and 2.5' shark. Fishing was steady from 6-9pm.

Lost a brand new MR51 on the 2nd cast.
