Open season, No limit, and they come from Argentina I think. I think they are called "Ringed Neck Dove"

no i know what kind of dove it is. im not going to go out and blast any dove just to do it. i was just looking for the particular color phase. that link i posted has a bunch. seems like a specialty/hybrid phase. whatever it is it will be tasty.

Those things are as big as a pigeon. I have been seeing alot more of them over the past 5 years. Never ate one though. Bacon wrapped with jalapeno, jack cheese? Sounds Yummy to Me.

good job on the backyard dove...my FIL used to shoot them from his backyard in Galleria area with his bb gun until he had enough for a full dinner...had to ask him whether we were eating free range dove (that I had given to him) or domesticated, neighborhood, dumpster diver, backyard dove...lol! BTW, doves are in the pigeon family, not vice versa.

What do you think "Squab" is? It's young, tasty and succulent pigeon and also available at any homeless person's camp under the Pierce Elevated.

The pictured dove is Asiatic Dove-also called ring-neck doves. Open season and bigger than a mourning dove and an invasive species-blow em away and enjoy em on the grill. Add some Texas Smokehouse Sauce and life is good.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary.
