We're not there full time. I have met everyone that has been there at the same time that we have, but two of the houses have been empty every time I have been there. I really need to meet one of those though, because they have a pool.

I've seen a bunch of theft around my parts from people doing stuff like that - they are casing you out and come back if there are no mean dogs, loud alarms, heavy deadbolt locks, and so forth. They take their time casing the joint, acting all innocent, and sometimes even with young kids. Then some night - bam, in a minute or two they are in and out. I didn't even know what I was looking at until my neighbor said every TV and computer was gone from the house. Gosh I felt like a creep for not calling 911 when I saw funny business going down!

They have no bidness messing with someone else's stuff w/o PERMISSION!! (BTC-That means you-J/K). My neighbor would have told them to leave, if they said anything back to him, he'd walk away, lock and load his Glock, call Police, then help Police shoot them. Ya know, like SNL skits-"Bang, Bang Stop or I'll shoot!".

Lectricity aint cheap and they are jerks to think they have the RIGHT to spend other people's money w/o permission-who the heLL do they think they are----OBAMA and Pelousy? Just some POS Trespassers!!

Like Kenny says: Get to know your neighbors-ask them about folks that are on their property-chances are they saw those guys fishing your place previously and burning your electricity.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

I would shank them with an ice pick and then toss it in the canal. make sure his buddy's see it and offer it as a warning to not step on turf that ain't theirs

Gilbert: Would ya shank em in the gut so they suffer a long time or slit their throat so they have a quick death?

I think I know the answer, but await your response and recommendation.

I am here most of the time, but when I'm not I depend on my neighbors to use good judgement on when to call the police. Most of the time, I'm the one asking the questions about whether one is allowed there at the neighbors or not. And I am one of those that yells at boaters flying down the canal, it a no wake zone thing, however, I am careful about confronting anyone at first, gauging to see if they seem out of sorts (drunk). It being just me, I dont have a problem getting the police involved. I've had lots of people fish my lights from their boat, not my yard, and enjoyed watching them catch, I only tell them that if you hook the elec line please cut your line and re-load, have had no issues. We do have a decent police presence here too, that helps A LOT. So on that note, get to know your neighbors, dont be afraid to call the police, and watch your back.

Exellent advice, Kenny. Especially if you aren't a full timer: get to know you neighbors. They'll look after you and you'll look after them. And then you can call me when they're out of town so I can come fish their lights!
All kidding aside, get to know your neighbors.

Its tresspassing. i get these mouthorfvvvkers coming over to my house from the beach and using my shower and filling up my garbage cans with their crap from the beach. im getting cameras installed so i can file charges when it happens.

running thru peoples yards and flowers beds drunk in your truck is one thing; but theres no excuse for this type of behavior.

If it smells like fish....you know I've been there!

JT-Are you sure it just wasn't aggies trying to rob your place?

I had that happen once. I knew because my trash was missing and my dog was pregnant!! Maybe you had Grad Student aggies since they added trash? Maybe they used to shower to remove DNA evidence from your dog?

Our neighbors have told us there have been people on our pier in Terramar when are not there. Besides the trepassing aspect and the thievery; in our sue happy world there is also a liability issue. All you need is a good attorney and a sympathetic jury to award a tresspasser $$$$$$$$ for getting hurt on your property. As stupid as it may sound, it has happened before.

To best protect yourself, at a minimum post a conspicuous "No Tresspassing" sign and a "Not Liable for Injury" sign. Also inform your neighbors that you do not wish to have people there with out permission.

Even if you don't mind, post the "not liable fore injury" sign.

                                It's a wacky world.
