Went out Saturday afternoon to scout out the south shoreline from Bay Harbor to the other side of the pass around 3:00 in the afternoon. Wind was still way up (over 15) and so was the water. Water color was very clear along the shoreline and held a lot of bait. I ran by at least five newly formed slicks and watched some trout busting the surface. Once closer to the pass in the deeper water again I saw more fresh slicks. Once I passed Bird Island and up into Titlum Tatlum I saw nothing. Water color was ok but not near what it was further east. Same goes for all around the other side of the pass. This area also held a TON of fisherman. If they only knew! Coming back once I passed Bird Island the water came alive again. While running back to the shore from the shallow point across from Bird Island I again busted through trout seeing a couple of them chasing bait out of the water.
Looks like the pass area has turned on. At least the sout shoreline just east of the pass. Although I went out to simply scout I sure wish I had my gear!
