If you're going to fish Titlum-Tatlum, please learn this basic form of on the water courtesy:

Well before you come even with a boat at dock or people fishing, please slow your boat down completely. I've seen folks do this in such a manner that while they THINK they are being courteous, they are being ignorant. Please bring your throttle back 'til it clicks and you are at idle speed. Once the bow settles in the water ENTIRELY, you can bump up the throttle slightly to get you moving a little faster, but don't let the bow rise. The most usual mistake I see is people who slow down to 1/4 throttle and they think they are doing people a favor while they're throwing a 3 foot wake. People also wait until too late to slow down. Watch your wake and try not to bang people's boats up or disturb others fishing.

This weekend is one of the 5 worst of the year to be on the water. People WILL BE FISHING IN NARROW CHANNELS. You know this before you head out, so don't lose your cool when you see it. Just slow down properly and politely ask which side they would like you to pass on. If they act indignant, keep your cool. Many people think they own the water and cussing and yelling will not dissuade them from this dillusion of grandeur. Ask them if they would prefer that you blow by at full throttle and calmly explain that they are fishing in a channel. If they lose it, just ignore their ignorant butts. Try not to let these morons ruin your enjoyment of the water.

People that have docks WILL HAVE LINES OUT. This is another reason to slow down. It gives them time to come down from their camps and reel up. Your alternative is to buy a new lower unit when yours goes down because of monofilament breaking the seal.

Oh, and if you make it to Blockade Runners, stop by and say hi.

            Courtesy lesson II:

Bobcat...when you cross the bridge at SLP from Galv to Freeport, its like crossing over from West Germany to East Germany. West Germany..ie Galveston is where all the good looking women w/ big tits stay vs. East Germany/freeport area is where all the ugly toothless flat chest girls stay...

            Hope this helps out.

I just might have to stick to the Galveston side of things.... but is the fishing better there of Freeport?

                      Corndog...

I'll be doing a little of everything: wade fishing, kayaking, boat, etc.

If I'm just going for a quick day trip I'd probably stick to wading or kayaking.
