I just picked up some new gear. A canon 7D with the 28-135 kit lens, the EF70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM, the Fifty Fifty and the EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM. I'm digging this L macro.
Man you went on a spree!! I got yhe d300s, 50 1.4, 80-200 2.8 and the tokina 11-18 2.8 and a sb 700... i love it! What kind of shooting do you do?
The D300S is an excellent camera! I had a D80 before I picked up a Canon and probably will stick with Canon. My bet your favorite lens is the Tokina 11-28 right?
As far as what shooting I perfer, I like indoors in a softbox. I like controlling the light and the subject and that at times, is very challenging.
This is some some work in the softbox. I'm not really happy with it, but it's my first try with the 7D and the chrome from the rockers gave me hell. This is a engine for an RC plane.

The Nikkor 80-200 2.8 is a tank. The Tokina is BADARSE... I can stand in the corner of a room with back to the corner, hold the camera above my head and I will be in the photo. Its sick-wide and FAST. Really great lens that is wider, cheaper and cleaner than the nikkor equivalent.
I started with a D80 a couple years ago and bought the Nikkor 18-200mm VR "do everything" lens but as the years have gone by I decided to get rid of it and stick with prime lenses. Vibration reduction is nice but unnecessary shooting wide open at 1.4 or 2.8.
The only reason I stuck with Nikon is because I had nikon lenses and flashes. Canon really outdoes Nikon in lens options. Eventually, I would LOOOVE the 70-200 VR Nikkor but its PRICEY!
