Generator Repair Place????

    Generator Repair Place????

    Well, hooked up everything here at the camp last night, dock full of prospective fishermen, and got the gen fired up, but no electricity. It's running great, but there's nothing coming from any of the outlets. No loose wires or anything. Luckily Eddy down the bayou had an extra gen he lent us. So today I called the small engine repair place in Angleton and they don't work on the electrical side of generators. Anybody know of a place I can take it? It's still in great shape and the Subaru Robin engine on it is fantastic. I don't want to can it and get another one.

    I assume you checked the Ground fault's .they can fail...go to said genrators website and see if you can get parts.

      Not sure of a place you could go, but my brother had the same problem with his g-rator a while back. It was running fine just not putting out any power. My pops said that it needed to be re-magnatized! He did so using a car battery and jumper cables. Not sure exactly the process of how but it worked. Might wana google or youtube it or something. Hope this helps get the ball rolling.

          Seems like a very informative post, but I can't understand any of it. I can't believe nobody I've spoken to can recommend a repair shop. I know of 3 places near my parents house in New Orleans that work on the electric side, but here it seems nobody does it.

                Call an RV dealers repair shop and if they don't do it in-house, see if they will refer you to who they use.

                    he has and they don't do the electrical side of it. The gen runs like a top but no power to the panel.

                      If DIY, unless you know what you are doing, it's pretty easy to blow the voltage regulator on the new fangled generators.

                            You sure they work on the electric side Deano? I called every small engine repair place I could find and they ALL told me they didn't mess with the electric side of generators.
