Two down, two to go!

Finally got my score in for the Financial Accounting and Reporting section of the CPA exam I took in late January. I passed! Already passed Auditing, so just have Regulation and Business Environment & Concepts left. I'll be glad when I'm done. I'd like to have my life back.

Congrats. I have the college hours and requirements but it's just going to waste right now. I really need to start studying for the exam but between work and fishing there isn't much time to do much else. Are you taking review courses or are you just studying on your own?

I can't afford those review courses. My employer isn't paying for the test or the review. I'm using whatever the cheapest review book is on Amazon. Wiley, I think. ~$30 a section. I also bought a copy of the Wiley Test Bank for last year off of craigslist. Doesn't have the IFRS stuff, but the more multiple choice questions you can do, the better. It's been 5 years since I had an accounting class. I'm tellin' ya... the longer you're out of school, the harder it is.

Get after it! I don't recall IFRS ever even being mentioned in any of my classes. I'm telling you... you'll regret it if you wait too long to get started. Not only will all that fresh information seep out into the ether, but the AICPA will decide that there is something else they want you to know and/or do. (IFRS and accounting research classes come to mind)

I don't do ANY tax work. I work as Controller for an oil & gas valve manufacturer. I have zero desire to do even my own 1040.
